Tribute Fund, Friendship Tree, & Centennial Tribute Garden
Here are two special ways to honor or remember a special person while supporting Girl Scouting at the same time!
The Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s Tribute Fund is the perfect way to let someone know that you are thinking of them. Honor the memory of a loved one, celebrate the exceptional accomplishment of a special friend, the graduation or birthday of a family member or acknowledge that special Girl Scout volunteer. At the same time you’ll be making a lasting impact on the lives of over 17,000 Girl Scouts in Nassau County. The person that you designate will receive a card announcing your thoughtful gift and your Tribute will appear in an upcoming issue of our newsletter, GirlFriends, which reaches all the Girl Scout families in Nassau County. A minimum donation of $25 is requested.
Have you ever wondered how you can honor a special Girl Scout in your community with a permanent recognition? Designed to honor family, friends, volunteers and special events, Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s Friendship Tree is the perfect vehicle to do just that! Each leaf is individually inscribed and placed on the tree according to the wishes of the donor(s). Visit the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Service Center where our Friendship Tree is displayed and take a few moments to view its many inspiring dedications. A minimum donation of $500 to support Girl Scouting in Nassau County is required.
Centennial Tribute Garden
As we embark on the next century of Girl Scouting, GSNC has the unique opportunity to commemorate our first 100 years. Our Centennial Tribute Garden provides our Girl Scout community with a way to honor or memorialize those who embody the Girl Scout spirit with a commemorative stone trefoil in the garden. A limited number of stones are available for engraving – ten – one for each decade of GSNC’s history.
The approximate size of each stone Trefoil is 18” x 18” and can accommodate up to 5 lines of text with up to 20 characters per line in 72pt type. A minimum donation of $1,000 is requested. A group of individuals may collaborate to make this donation. You can visit our Centennial Tribute Garden along the Cookie Driveway at the GSNC Service Center.
