What is the Thin Mint Sprint?
The Thin Mint Sprint is 5k Run and Family Fun 1-Walk, which will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Jones Beach State Park. Families and avid runners of all ages are invited to join us on Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend for our first ever Girl Scout Cookie themed fun run and activity fair.
All proceeds from this event will support Girl Scouts of Nassau County in our mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. We give girls access to life-changing experiences that inspire them to do BIG things!
When is Thin Mint Sprint?
Girl Scouts of Nassau County's 2nd Annual Thin Mint Sprint 5K Race and Family Fun 1-mile Walk will be held at Jones Beach State Park on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
Where is this event and what time does it start?
This event is at Jones Beach State Park. The 5K starts at 8:30AM and the 1 Mile begins at 10:00AM.
What does this event support?

Who can participate?
Families and avid runners of all ages are invited to join us for GSNC's sweetest event, the Thin Mint Sprint 5K or 1-mile walk.
Important Notes: The 1-mile event is walk-only. There is a 60-minute course limit for the 5K course. Stollers will not be permitted on the 5K course.
Adult Supervision
The Thin Mint Sprint is NOT a drop off program. Adult supervision is required at this event. GSUSA establishes adult supervision requirements for Girl Scout activities. Adults registering for this program acknowledge they will be required to provide adult supervision to girls participating in this program.
My Girl Scout is registered to participate. Do I need to pay as well?
Adult supervision is required for this event, and all those who will be participating in the 5k or 1-mile events need to register as a participant.
As a participant, you will receive a special Thin Mint Sprint event t-shirt, a box of Girl Scout Cookies and any other items included with your registration type.
Note, there is no fee for children 4 years of age and under. Children 4 and under will not receive t-shirt, box of Girl Scout Cookies, or any other items included with event registration.
What if I can’t attend and would like to support a friend or a family member who is running instead?
You can support a participant or their team members by donating toward their fundraising goal. You can find your friends, family members, or their team by searching for them here.
How can I join a Thin Mint Sprint Team?
In order to formally register and participate in this event, you must register for the Thin Mint Sprint using the EliteFeats site at events.elitefeats.com/25thinmintsprint. Once you have registered, you will be directed to a confirmation page where you will be invited to create or join a team. There you can search for the team you would like to join or start a new team.
What does the course map look like?
The course map is still in the process of being approved by Jones Beach State Park. More to come!
Where can we pick up our bibs for the 5K?
Bib pickup will be held from 7:15 AM to 8:15 AM the day of the event (Sunday, September 14, 2025) at the event check-in table.
How can I get a personalized race bib?
You must register three weeks in advance to receive a personalized race bib! You must know your bib number in order to pick up your bib. If you do not know your bib number, there will be a self-lookup area. Your bib number will be texted or emailed to you at least two hours prior to bib pick up.
