Ways to Shop with GSNC

Stop by our retail shop in Garden City to enjoy an in-person shopping experience. Find all things Girl Scouts, including Girl Scout Leadership Experience materials, badges, patches, uniforms, apparel and gift items.

The GSNC Shop is located at 110 Ring Road West, Garden City right near the Roosevelt Field Mall.

GSUSA's Online Retail Store is available 24/7 offering a variety of Girl Scout items including Girl Scout uniforms, insignia, Journey Books and more! This official retail store also includes branded items that our GSNC Shop may not carry.

Proceeds from your purchase through the GSUSA online store supports Nassau County council, providing more opportunities for girls.

Uniforms

Official Uniform

You’re proud of what you’ve achieved. Your Girl Scout uniform shows how much you’ve accomplished—and that you’re ready for what’s next. And each part of your Girl Scout uniform is as unique as you are.

Girl Scouts from each grade level have one official uniform item (a sash, vest, or tunic) to display badges, pins, awards, and other insignia. This item is required when you participate in ceremonies or officially represent Girl Scouts. You can wear your sash, vest, or tunic over official Girl Scout gear or over a white shirt and khaki pants or skirt. Depending on grade level, official uniform items may be blue, brown, green, or khaki.

My Girl Scout Uniform Checklist

The My Girl Scout Uniform Checklist contains everything a girl needs for a great year in Girl Scouts. We’ve eliminated the guess work and included Handbooks, American Flag Patch, Insignia Tab, and Council ID. Just select your official uniform item (tunic or vest), Troop Numerals, and more before heading out to your next meeting or activity!

Bridging Kits help leaders recognize the achievements that go along with moving to the next Girl Scout level.

Girl Scouts of Nassau County offers many council-specific patches that can be purchased at the GSNC Shop in Garden City. Check out our Patch Program page to see the requirements for all our offerings.

Patches need to be ordered in person at the GSNC shop and prepaid at time of ordering. All patches ordered by Thursday will arrive the following week.

Return Policy toggle arrow

Return Policy

We do not accept returns or offer store credit. We have an exchange only policy which means you are able to exchange all current merchandise as long as it has tags attached, in original packaging, in sellable condition and has not been marked down, discontinued, dated or was a special order.

Can I return online purchases at council store?

Our GSNC shop will accept exchanges on online merchandise only if we carry the item at the GSNC Shop and it has not been marked down or discontinued. All customer service issues for purchases made online should be directed to the girlscoutshop.com customer service center. Please note that the GSNC shop may not carry all the sizes of uniforms therefore would not be eligible for exchange.

The Online Shop is always open at www.girlscoutshop.com, GSUSA's official shop. Merchandise and promotions may differ from Council Shops. If you see something online that you would like to order, we will be happy to order it for you for pickup at the GSNC council store. The only items we can’t order are ones that say “Online Only” or “Ships from council”. GSNC Cookie Credits are not valid to be used online.

Can I order online and ship to store?

Unfortunately, the GSUSA website is not capable of that service but many of the items on the GSUSA website we can special order for you. Just stop into our shop with the item numbers you wish to order and we can order it for you. Items that are listed “online only” or “ships from council” are not available for us to order.

Tax Exempt Purchases at GSNC Shop toggle arrow

Troop purchases made at the GSNC Shop in Garden City are sales tax exempt if paid with a troop debit card or troop check. Purchases paid with personal checks, personal debit/credit cards, or cash are not tax exempt.

Do I need to bring my tax exempt form when I shop with my troop?

No, you do not need to bring your tax exempt form but you need to pay for your troop purchases with either a troop check, troop debit card or cash in order to be tax exempt.

Do I pay tax when shopping at the GSUSA online store?

Yes when buying on the GSUSA you must pay tax no matter your form of payment.

Can I use my Cookie Credits & Mags&Munchies Certificate in the GSNC Shop? toggle arrow

All incentives, including Cookie Credits and Mags&Munchies Certificates may be used in-store only at our GSNC Shop to make purchases. Unfortunately, these incentives cannot be used online.

How? To use you Cookie Credits, be sure to bring your Cookie Credit number with you when shopping. To use your Mags&Munchies Certificates, be sure to bring the Mags&Munchies Certificates with you when shopping.

Can I have my Troop Leader redeem my Cookie Credits/Mags and Munchies Certificates for me?

We know that it is sometimes more convenient for Troop Leaders to purchase uniforms and other items for their Girl Scouts. Cookie Credits/Certificates are awarded to the family, not the troop. Cookie/Mags&Munchies Credits should only be redeemed by the girl or family.

How does financial aid work for uniform items? toggle arrow

Complete the Financial Aid for Program Request form. The request will be reviewed by GSNC and parent will be notified of decision. Decisions are typically made within 5 business days.

The GSNC Shop will be notified when your application is approved and will contact you for pick up.

How do I find out if Shop hours have changed? toggle arrow

The most effective way to find out about changes to our hours is to check the GSNC Online Community (OLC). You can also call our shop at 516-741-2550, ext. 202.

Can I call ahead my order? toggle arrow

Unfortunately, due to our limited space we are unable to accommodate request for items to be placed on hold but you are welcome to call ahead and check on if we have items in stock that you need.

Is it possible to buy badges or badge requirements for my Girl Scout to work on by herself? toggle arrow

Yes! Girl Scouts are encouraged to try new things through badge work. You should discuss your plans with your troop leader in case they are already planning something, but you can always purchase badge requirements and badges on your own!
