Girl Leadership Committee
As a member of the Girl Leadership Committee (GLC), girls are encouraged to share their voices, their creative ideas, and their passion for Girl Scouts to ensure that Girl Scout programming reflects what today’s girls want and need.
This select group works as a committee of the GSNC Board of Directors,
and partners with the CEO and staff members on projects ranging from
program development to research and marketing. Members develop new and
innovative initiatives and share their ideas with council leadership. By
facilitating youth adult partnerships, these leadership opportunities
allow girls to influence decision making processes in our council. The
input and advice that is provided to the CEO is shared with the Board of
Directors and helps to set the direction for Girl Scouting in Nassau County.

- Are you a registered member in 9th, 10th or 11th grade?
The GLC meets six times over the course of the school year on weeknights from 7:00 PM-8:30 at the GSNC Service Center. Outside of the scheduled meetings, members participate, communicate, and collaborate with other GLC members on various projects throughout the year. Input from everyone is a key part of the committee’s mission, therefore, attendance and active participation should be made a priority. GLC members commit to serving a one-year term and may be invited to reapply for a second term.
