Created by Girl Scout Jane G., in collaboration with Girl Scouts of Nassau County, All About Guide Dogs was created to teach girls about guide dogs. The program is for girls in grades k-8. It teaches them about the importance of guide dogs, and offers collaborative, hands-on activities to learn about them.

Patch Programs
Council Patch Programs allow girls to explore a wide range of topics and have unique learning experiences that might not be available through the traditional badge work. Council Patches can be completed as a Troop or as an Individual Girl Scout. Simply download the activity booklet and evaluation form for the patch you wish to work on. When finished, bring the completed evaluation form in to the GSNC Shop to purchase the patch.

The Centennial Patch Program will enable Girl Scouts to explore how the Past, the Future, their Self and their Community have positively impacted their Girl Scout experiences in Nassau County.
Requirements for earning the patch: There will be 4 Rockers, each named for the 4 areas: The Past; The Future; Self and Community. Complete at least 1 Rocker to earn the main patch.

Girl Scouts will learn about life with food allergies while raising awareness of the public health issue. Girl Scouts must complete 4 out of 10 activities to earn the patch. Then, when you’re done, fill out the form to receive your free Food Allergy Awareness Patch patch.

Through this program girls learn about the respiratory system, how we breathe, and how to identify asthma triggers in our environment. By completing this patch program, you will gain a better understanding of Long Island’s hurricane history and how to be better prepared for hurricanes and tropical storms. This patch program will help Girl Scouts on Long Island understand the potential impact of hurricanes and learn how to be better prepared in the event of a hurricane or tropical storm. (All levels)

Juliette Low World Friendship Patch Program

Through this patch program Daisy, Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts learn about Juliette Low and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). The activities encourage international exploration and respect for individual differences. The patch program is designed to start in October with Juliette Low's birthday (October 31st) and end in February with a Thinking Day Ceremony (February 22nd). Fall is here and we would be remiss if we didn't create the ever-favorite seasonal bucket list!
Complete at least 20 activities on this list. Please adjust for current social distancing standards, CDC safety precautions and current NY PAUSE (or your states) requirements.

Stand Up to Bullies

Are the girls in your Troop or Association talking about bullying they see in their school? Is there bullying happening within the Troop? Try out this program created by GSNC volunteers and staff. Through this program, you'll help girls learn what bullying is, how to stand up to it, and most importantly challenge themselves to be better friends to girls in their Troop, school, and community.
The program is designed for Brownie and Juniors, and lasts about 1.5 hours. It includes detailed instructions on what to do with the girls, a participation certificate, and instructions for earning the patch, which can be purchased in our shop. Summer Service Challenge

Every girl can make a difference this summer! We’re challenging you to perform community service. All you need to do is tell us what kind of community service you performed and keep track of it. Simply print a copy of the GSNC Summer Service Challenge Log and fill it in every time you take part in a community service activity. At the end of the summer, return the log to the GSNC Shop. Let’s see how many hours Girl Scouts of Nassau County can get towards the Summer Service Challenge. We want to beat 1470 hours! Can We Do it?
