Council Gift of Caring
Hometown Heroes
Eat. Share. Show Communities We Care. When COVID-19 hit our communities in the spring of 2020, essential workers, first responders, doctors, nurses, and other key people put themselves in harm’s way to keep the rest of us safe and to help keep our communities going.
Girl Scouts of Nassau County and our supporters will continue to
remind these vital workers how much we appreciate all that they do for
our communities. That is why we are continuing our Hometown Heroes
donation program for the 2021 cookie season.
Operation: Cookie
For 15 years, Girl Scouts of Nassau County with the help from DHL have shipped over 800,000 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies® to our servicemen and women in Iraq, Afghanistan, and throughout the world. Since 2013, Cookies have also been delivered to our local Marine Base in Garden City, the Coast Guard station at Jones Beach, and other New York military institutions.
Support comes from community members who purchase cookies from Girl Scouts in Nassau County to be donated to our military heroes. Thank you for your support helping our girls bring this “taste of home” to those serving our country.

How can you GSNC's Gift of Caring programs?

Troop Gift of Caring
Another way of sharing our great Girl Scout Cookies is through a Girl Scout troop’s own Gift of Caring. The girls in the troop can ask for donations to their troop so that packages of cookies can be given to a group of the girl’s choice, which might be a food pantry, senior citizen organization, volunteer fire department, etc. It’s a great way for our community to support our local Girl Scouts.
Receipts for Cookie Donations available upon request.
