My Favorite Thing About Being a Girl Scout - Maiya

Although there are many great things about being a Girl Scout, my favorite is experiencing new things. The things we do in Girl Scouts are extremely different than anything I do outside of Girl Scouts. Whether I’m upside down on a silk at arial yoga, or rollerskating for the first time. A very different experience for me is rollerskating since I have two left feet. Girl Scouts helps you get out of your comfort zone and teaches you lessons along the way! You have to be resourceful and creative as well. Experiencing new things is my favorite thing about Girl Scouts.

My favorite thing about being a Girl Scout is getting to create fun memories with my friends in my troop. We go camping at Camp Blue Bay, make food and s’mores and get to walk on the beach. While walking on the beach we collect shells and sand to show our families when we get back home. I also like attending Girl Scout programs and learning new things. I feel more confident because of Girl Scouts.

My favorite thing about being a Girl Scout is all the friends I have made. I was a first year Daisy in 2020. The Zoom calls really helped me stay connected to my friends.

My favorite thing about being a Girl Scout is that we spend time in nature. Nature is the beautiful outdoors. At our first Daisy meeting, we rolled down the big hill. We made bird feeders out of seeds and pinecones and played on a big tree. At the end of the year, we went horseback riding with out troop cookie money. My favorites are thin mints and tagalongs. I like spending time with my friends the most. I can’t wait to go camping this year! I love Girl Scouts!

Girl Scouts is SUPER cool! I remember when I was a Daisy, and we had to walk over a rainbow bridge to become a Brownie. It is unforgettable! I was sooo excited for all the new things I could do. It was almost like a birthday celebration! But what clings to me most, like a panda on bamboo, was creating our escape room! My troop came up with the idea, thinking it would be fun for what we were once… DAISIES!!! The goal was to save your pet pegasus from the evil dragons, along with the help of fairies and cute critters in an enchanted forest. It reminded me how fun helping people learn lessons can be!
