Why You Are Needed
Without adults playing many pivotal roles, Girl Scouting couldn't happen!
Helping girls grow strong is a fulfilling and inspiring challenge and being involved means something different to everyone. Research shows that the influence one caring adult has on a child will last a lifetime. You can tailor your participation so that it fits right into your life. What do adults in Girl Scouts do? More than camping, crafts and cookies, Girl Scout Volunteer Leaders help to develop the leadership potential in all girls by partnering with them to deliver programs and activities that are girl-led. You can also volunteer your time and expertise as a helper for your daughter's Troop Leaders, volunteer as the Troop Cookie Chair or Fall Product Chair or offer to be the snack volunteer! Your assistance is always needed and very much appreciated! See below for some ideas about how you can volunteer outside the traditional Troop setting.

Adult Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteering Beyond the Troop
Did you know? There are many ways to get involved as a volunteer at GSNC that don't include troops or leader meetings. Volunteering can give you a competitive edge during these difficult economic times and can spruce up a resume of someone whose been out of the workforce for some time. Although it can never take the place of paid work, volunteering can allow anyone to develop their existing skills or learn new ones, thus making them more marketable in today's competitive workplace.
Whether you have one day a year or one day a week, you can help GSNC make a difference in the lives of girls. Most people are familiar with the role of Troop Leader as the path into Girl Scout volunteerism; while we are always in need of more Troop Leaders, we also need volunteers who can support Girl Scouting beyond this role.
