MEMORIAL SERVICE TO HONOR BELOVED GIRL SCOUT VOLUNTEER

The community will gather together on Sunday, December 2nd at 4:00 pm at the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Bellmore to remember Dorothea “Dot” Pratt, a long-time Girl Scout volunteer and staff member.

“The Girl Scout community is deeply saddened by the loss of Mrs. Pratt,” says Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County.  “We will never forget the contributions that our friend Dot has made to the organization and we are honored to take part in her memorial.”  Rita Scott, Director of Information Management, and a former co-worker with Mrs. Pratt, will speak at the service on behalf of the Girl Scout staff.

Mrs. Pratt began here career as a volunteer for the Bellmore Troops and then worked for more than 20 years on the Council staff as everything from a Membership Development Director to an International Hostess to the Resource Room Coordinator.  The Resource Room at the GSNC Service Center in Garden City was named in Mrs. Pratt’s honor when she retired in 1997.
