"MEET THE AUTHOR" AT GIRL SCOUTS OF NASSAU COUNTY
Garden City, NY September 12, 2006 - We all know that cruel things can happen to kids in schools and in social groups, but do we know how to teach our kids how to cope? On Tuesday, October 17 parents will have the opportunity to meet co-author of the popular book, Cliques: Eight Steps to Help Your Child Survive the Social Jungle at the Girl Scouts Service Center in Garden City. Margaret Sagarese will be at the Service Center for a book signing and discussion.
"It is important that parents understand what is going on with their child in order to give them the help they need," said Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director, Girl Scouts of Nassau County. "With the help of Ms. Sagarese, we are offering parents an opportunity to learn effective strategies that will help their child deal with possible harmful social interactions."
Cliques: Eight Steps to Help Your Child Survive the Social Jungle is the first book Girl Scouts' will read in its Critical Issues Book Group series. It is available in the Girl Scout Shop at the Service Center for $14 plus tax. Purchase the book and receive a copy of the study guide for free.
