BALDWIN HARBOR RESIDENT ELECTED TO GIRL SCOUTS OF NASSAU COUNTY BOARD
Garden City, NY June 11, 2008 – All Sandra Ashby’s hard work and dedication to the community has paid off! Ms. Ashby, a resident of Hempstead, was elected for her fourth non-consecutive term as Member-at-Large for the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, Inc. The election took place during the 43rd Annual Meeting held at Hofstra University Student Center Theatre on May 7th. Ms. Ashby joins other Board Members in their mission to provide leadership and fresh and creative direction to the Council.
“We are so pleased that Sandra will be serving on our Board,” said Sandra Echols Williams, President of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Board of Directors.“ Sandra will surely bring many positive attributes to our Board.”
Ms. Ashby is a long-time advocate of Girl Scouting in the Hempstead School District and the Hempstead Community. She is a member of the Community Relations Committee where she served as Vice Chair for several years. Recently Ms. Ashby retired as Principal of the Ludlum School. Ms. Ashby’s other volunteer efforts include past service on the Board of Directors of the Dorothy K. Robins Child Care Center and the Delta Minerva Life Development Center. She is now an educational consultant in private practice.
