THE GIRL SCOUTS AND CABOT CREAMERY "STEPPED IT UP" FOR 95 YEARS!


Garden City, NY May 2, 2007 - On Sunday, April 22nd the Girl Scouts of Nassau County celebrated their 95th Anniversary with Cabot Creamery celebrity Chef, Jon Ashton and ESPN's soccer analyst, Julie Foudy at Hofstra University's Physical Fitness Center. The event was dedicated to all the girls, families and community members that have made Girl Scouts a success since its inception.

"We were very pleased to see all the Girl Scout supporters come out and enjoy this event," says Donna Ceravolo, executive director of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County.  "We think everyone had a wonderful time learning about healthy eating from Chef Ashton, soccer skills from Olympic Gold Medalist Julie Foudy and all the activities Girl Scouting offers girls today."

Attendees participated in food workshops with Cabot Creamery's celebrity Chef Jon Ashton. Chef Ashton created healthy snacks that were fun to prepare and eat. Girl Scouts had the opportunity to participate in soccer clinics under the direction of Julie Foudy, Former Captain of the USA Women's Soccer Team, Olympic Gold Medalist 1996 and 2004, Olympic Silver Medalist 2000, two-time World Cup Champion in 1991 and 1999 and 17 year veteran of the National Team. All participants were able to get signed autographs from both celebrities and the event was open to all.
