DHL TO MAKE SPECIAL DELIVERY OF GIRL SCOUT COOKIES TO US MILITARY

Garden City, May 16, 2008--The Girl Scouts of Nassau County and DHL, the world's leading global express delivery and logistics company, have joined together to make one “sweet” delivery to the U.S. Military. As a small token of appreciation for their dedicated service, DHL will pick up more than 32,000 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies and transport them to our troops overseas.

DHL will make the scheduled Cookie pick up at the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Headquarters on Tuesday, May 20th at 10:30 a.m., located at 110 Ring Road West, Garden City, New York. Girl Scouts of all ages will help package the cookie cases for delivery. The Nassau County Police Department, Port Authority Police Department and New York City Police Department will be providing an escort as the cookies are transported to DHL's facility at JFK International Airport.

“DHL has shown true grace and compassion by donating their time and shipping services,” says Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director, Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “Because of their donation, we are able to bring our service men a little reminder of the simple pleasures of home.”

This Cookie donation is made possible due to the Girl Scouts of Nassau Operation Cookie program, which offers customers the opportunity to help lift the spirits of service men and women by purchasing extra boxes or cases of cookies to donate to the U.S. Military. More than 32,000 boxes or almost one million cookies will make their way to recipients internationally.

DHL will deliver cookies to servicemen and women in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force in Iraq, Afghanistan and U.S. Military bases and hospitals overseas.
