CELEBRATE GIRL SCOUTS' 95TH BIRTHDAY WITH THE GIRL SCOUTS OF NASSAU COUNTY
Garden City, NY February 5, 2007 - Do you have fond memories of selling Girl Scout cookies door to door as a child? Or maybe you remember doing arts and crafts or going camping and making S'mores. If you're looking to reconnect with Girl Scouts and remember all of the activities, friends and life lessons you have learned, join the Girl Scouts of Nassau County as they celebrate Girl Scouts' 95th Anniversary on Sunday, March 11 from 2:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. at Westbury Manor in Westbury (1100 Jericho Turnpike)!
The celebration alumnae event is open to all women ages 18 to 80 plus. Attendees will learn about new initiatives, see a showcase of the talents of today's Girl Scouts, enjoy a performance by the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Chorus and witness the Bridging to Adult ceremony to welcome graduating Senior Girl Scouts into the Alumnae Circle of Friends.
On March 12, 1912 Girl Scout founder, Juliette Gordon Low, officially registered the organization's first 18 girl members in Savannah , Georgia . Today, there are more than 10 million Girl Scouts and Girl Guides worldwide. This birthday celebration is a way for Girl Scouts of Nassau County to reconnect with those from the area.
