ENJOY A COOKIE BREAK?
Host a Corporate Cookie Booth at Your Place of Business
Garden City, NY February 1, 2005
It’s that time of the day, you’re sitting
in your office feeling a bit sluggish and wondering how you’re
going to get through the rest of the work day. Well, the Girl Scouts
of Nassau County have the solution. Host a Corporate Cookie Booth in
the lobby of your office and take a break by indulging in some of those
mouth watering Girl Scout Cookies.
The Girl Scouts of Nassau County are currently seeking
space in corporate offices, hospitals, hotels, colleges and shopping
malls during President’s Week, February 21st - 25th to set up
a small kiosk where they can sell their Cookies.
"The Cookie Program teaches Girl Scouts the skills
necessary to become the business leaders of tomorrow. Through the Cookie
Program Girl Scouts learn money management, negotiation, responsibility
and self-confidence," said Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director of
the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, Inc. "Being exposed to the corporate
world will make the experience even more beneficial."
Last year more than 25 companies participated in the program
with more than 3500 boxes of cookies sold. "Troops/Groups use the
money raised to support their Troop/Group activities. Some plan a large
year-end event or trip, others go camping or they use the money to fund
community service projects," said Ms. Ceravolo.
Once again this year, the Girl Scouts of Nassau County
have incorporated a special "Gift of Caring Program" which
enables consumers to purchase Cookies that can be donated back to the
community to homeless shelters, food pantries and other programs that
feed the hungry.
Girl Scouts is a contemporary movement that helps girls
discover fun, friendship and the power of girls together. With nearly
23,000 girls growing strong, Girl Scouts of Nassau County is big (serving
1 in 5 girls in Nassau County) and keeps growing every day. The organization
seeks to give all girls in Nassau County the opportunity to realize
their full potential and become better prepared for the future. Girl
