GIRL SCOUTS GO GREEN THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
Garden City, NY November 21, 2008 – In an effort to recognize the importance of the environment, The Girl Scouts of Nassau County has designed a series of ornaments made from recyclables for this Holiday season! View the ornaments made by Troops across Nassau County as they are displayed at RexCorp Plaza this December.
“Our Troops are so excited to display their recycled ornaments while doing their part to make this holiday season a little more green,” said Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director, Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “Protecting our environment is important today and in the future. We hope that the community will join us and use recyclables and other household items to make this year’s holiday decorations more environmentally friendly.”
Learn how to turn recyclables and other household items into beautiful works of art by visiting the Resource Room page on the Girl Scouts of Nassau County website, www.gsnc.org. The Girl Scouts of Nassau County website contains ideas, supply lists and instructions on how to make a ‘green’ ornament this Holiday season.
Ms, Ceravolo adds, “We hope that this initiative raises awareness in our community and reminds people this Holiday season not to take our environment for granted.”
