GIRL SCOUTS OF NASSAU COUNTY TO HONOR LISA DIFILIPPI OF ALURE HOME IMPROVEMENT
Garden City, NY April 24, 2008—The annual “Go for the Green” Golf Classic hosted by the Girl Scouts of Nassau County will honor an important woman to the Nassau County community this year. Lisa DiFilippi is the Vice President of Alure Home Improvements, Inc., a former Girl Scout, and an active supporter of the Girl Scout community.
“We are please to announce Mrs. DiFilippi as this year’s honoree,” said Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “She is an inspiration to young girls in the community as well as an active advocate in Girl Scouting.”
Mrs. DiFilippi is Vice President of Alure Home Improvements, Inc. of Plainview, NY. Mrs. DiFilippi began her career at Alure in 1995 as a bookkeeper. In the next few years, Mrs. DiFilippi’s drive, experience, and belief in Alure’s people-centered culture helped her advance through the company, cumulating in a promotion to her current position of Vice President in June of 2007. Mrs. DiFilippi’s own childhood Girl Scout experiences inspired her to become a leader and volunteer for her own daughter’s Girl Scout troop.
The 24th annual “Go for the Green” Golf Outing will be held on Monday, August 11th at the North Hempstead Country Club in Port Washington. Proceeds from the event make it possible for the more than 22,000 Girl Scouts in Nassau County to experience the fun and friendship of Girl Scouting, while developing the leadership skills they will need for the future.
Attendees will play 18 holes of golf on one of Long Island’s premier golf courses, eat from an elaborate brunch buffet, enjoy an on-course lunch overlooking the green and finish the day with a cocktail reception. Attendees will also have the chance to win tons of great gifts from raffles prizes, silent auction items, and hole-in-one prizes.
To register for the golf outing, please contact Sherry McGrath, Fund Development Coordinator at Girl Scouts of Nassau County at 516-741-2550 ext. 240.
