HELP THE GIRL SCOUTS OF NASSAU COUNTY BRING COOKIES TO OUR SOLDIERS
Garden City, NY, February 3, 2009— Want to help bring our military troops a sweet taste of home? Join the Girl Scouts of Nassau County as they begin Operation Cookie! Purchase a box or a case of cookies from a local Girl Scout and donate the boxes to be shipped directly to our troops overseas.
“We are proud to bring a taste of home to the men and women serving our country and feel it’s the least we can do to help remind our soldiers that we’re thinking of them,” says Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “This year again, Operation Cookie could not be possible without the help of DHL, who so generously donates their shipping services to us.”
The Girl Scouts of Nassau County needs your help to surpass the 30,000 boxes of cookies given to our soldiers last year. So don’t forget to add an extra box or two to your order, ask your friends and colleagues to become a Star Spangle Sponsor of a case of Cookies or see if your company will make Operation Cookie a workplace initiative. Don’t forget the Cookie Military Weekend on March 14th and 15th and be sure to make your donation to remind our military troops of home.
Ms. Ceravolo adds, “We thank the community for its support and dedication to Operation Cookie. Without the community on board, we would not be able to bring this tasty treat to our servicemen and women.”
