Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Girl Scout Cookies Peanut Butter is Safe!

Garden City, NY January 23, 2009 – Little Brownie Bakers, the supplier of Girl Scout Cookies® to Girl Scouts of Nassau County, stated on its website, “The peanut butter used in all Girl Scout® Cookie products is not sourced from the supplier involved in the current peanut butter recall.”

FDA and other regulatory agencies have indicated that Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) is the focus of their investigation concerning a recent Salmonella outbreak thought to be caused by tainted peanut butter. PCA does not supply peanut butter used in the Company’s Tagalongs® or Do-si-dos® branded Girl Scout® cookies.

“Please rest assured that our Girl Scout Cookies® are safe to eat and have not been part of or associated with the recent peanut butter recall,” says Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “Thank you to the community for its continued support of the Girl Scout Cookie Program® making it possible for girls everywhere to experience the joys of Girl Scouting!”
