Girl Scouts of Nassau County Call on Sponsors for Annual Walkathon
GSNC Announces Sponsorship Opportunities to Help “Girls Go the Distance”
Garden City, NY (February 2014) – Girl Scouts of Nassau County is announcing sponsorship opportunities for the annual “Girls Go the Distance” Walkathon and Activity Fair to be held on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Old Bethpage Village Restoration. Over 1,000 Nassau County Girl Scouts and Troop leaders will be joined by their families and friends, community members and local business owners to support awareness of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s Healthy Living Initiatives.
"The Walkathon is a unique event that brings the community together while promoting a healthy lifestyle," said Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “Sponsoring the Walkathon is a great way for local businesses to support the Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s Healthy Living Initiatives, which emphasizes increasing girl’s self –esteem, their awareness of the media and the importance of healthy eating and physical fitness.”
For many years, Girl Scouts of Nassau County has united local families and communities to promote healthy living among Girl Scouts. Girls define their own healthy lifestyle with an emphasis on emotional and social well-being.
Each year Girl Scout Leaders, members of the community and local corporations participate in an interactive two-mile walk sponsored by Hofstra University. The walk will start in the farm of the Old Bethpage Village Restoration and will end at the fairgrounds where the Healthy Living activity fair will take place. Attendees participate in fun activities and learn about healthy choices while Girl Scout Alumnae and corporate teams can meet today's Girl Scouts, network with peers and be real-life role models for girls throughout Nassau County.
The five levels of sponsorship opportunities are Event Sponsor-$7,500, Corporate Sponsor-$2,500,Community Sponsor-$1,000, Mile Marker-$200 and Vendor-$75.
Depending on the level of sponsorship, sponsor logos will appear prominently on Girl Scouts of Nassau County website, event banners, T-shirts, mile-markers and other promotional materials. For more information regarding sponsorship opportunities contact Antoinette Agosta at email@example.com.
