THE GIRL SCOUTS OF NASSAU COUNTY CHORUS PERFORMS FOR THE HOLIDAYS!
Garden City, NY November 21, 2011 – November means only one thing: the holidays are right around the corner. And the Girl Scouts of Nassau County know just how to get you into the holiday spirit! Come watch the world renown Girl Scouts of Nassau County Chorus sing at one of their upcoming holiday performances throughout December!
“Watching a performance by our chorus and ceremonial unit are a great way to get you excited for the holidays and are a great addition to your current holiday traditions,” said Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director, Girl Scouts of Nassau County.“The girls in our Chorus and Ceremonial unit practice very hard throughout the year and love to showcase their talents at community events, especially around the holidays.”
Performances by the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Chorus will take place on Friday, December 2ndat Girl Scouts of Suffolk County Holiday Lights Show and Saturday, December 17th at Old Bethpage Restoration Village. They will also be performing on Thursday, December 22nd on Fox & Friends, the morning show on Fox Cable News.
The Girl Scouts of Nassau County Chorus was formed in 1988. The Chorus is currently comprised of 50 members who travel throughout Nassau County and the surrounding metropolitan area. The girls in the chorus range in Girl Scout age levels from Brownies to Senior Girl Scouts. Their repertoire includes Girl Scout songs, patriotic numbers, holiday melodies and American standards.
The Girl Scouts of Nassau County Chorus was featured singing “True Colors” in the background of the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty commercial that debuted on 2006 Super Bowl Sunday. They have performed in Manhattan at the Gracie Awards honoring Women in Radio and Television, and each year they appear at numerous sporting events and civic gatherings, as well as at Girl Scout events.
