FREEPORT RESIDENT ELECTED TO GIRL SCOUTS OF NASSAU COUNTY BOARD
Garden City, NY June 2, 2010 – Betty Monroe, a resident of Freeport, has further dedicated her time to supporting, helping and mentoring future generations of women leaders! Betty was elected to the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, Inc. as a Member-at-Large and as a member of the Council Nominating Committee on May 24th at the 45th Annual Meeting held at Adelphi University Ruth S. Harley University Center. Betty joins other Board Members in their mission to provide leadership and innovative direction to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Council.

McFarlane, Esq., President of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Board of Directors. “With Betty now serving our Board, we are positive she will help us to continue our mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.”
Betty Monroe is serving as a Member-at-Large of the Board of Directors. Ms. Monroe has previously served as a member of the Board of Directors and has held the position of Executive Vice President. She has been Chair of the Community Relations Committee, the 2002 Council Performance Assessment Task Group and has served on the Council Nominating Committee. For her many contributions to Girl Scouts over the years, Betty received the Girl Scout Thanks Badge in 2002 and was named one of GSNC’s 90 Women for 90 Years.
