SPACE AVAILABLE AT GIRL SCOUTS OF NASSAU COUNTY SUMMER CAMP!

Garden City, NY March 9, 2011-There’s still time to register your daughter for the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Summer Fun Day Camps and Sleep-away Camp Blue Bay. Provide her with the chance to spend her summer vacation in a fun, safe and creative environment surrounded by positive role models and new and old friends.

“Our summer camps offer girls a place to build lasting friendships, learn lifelong skills and be themselves all while having fun,” said Donna Ceravolo, Chief Executive Officer, Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “We hope parents give their daughters the chance to experience all that our summer camps have to offer, we know they won’t be disappointed!”

The Girl Scouts of Nassau County offers three summer programs, which consist of two day camps located in Nassau County and one sleep-away camp located in East Hampton. The Summer Fun Day Camps are located at Cantiague Park and Wantagh Park. A typical day at these camps includes sports, arts & crafts, nature walks, singing and fun in the pool. On rainy days, girls participate in activities such as indoor games, crafts, songs and more. Camp Blue Bay in East Hampton is owned and operated by the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. It is located on 179 acres of beautiful beachfront property. The camp offers a variety of learning and challenging experiences. A typical day at this camp includes boating, swimming, crafts, teambuilding activities, nature games, campfires, singing and more. The camps are open to the general public. Day camps are open to girls in grades 1-7 and Sleep-away Camp is open to girls in grades 1-11.

For more detailed information about the three summer camp programs visit the Girl Scouts of Nassau County website at www.gsnc.org to view the 2011 Camp Brochure and download a registration form. Be sure to give your daughter a summer she will never forget!
