GIRL SCOUTS OF NASSAU COUNTY ALUMNI TO JUDGE GIRL SCOUT COOKIE DESSERT CONTEST

Garden City, NY March 21, 2011 – In support of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s Operation Cookie program, which brings a taste of home via boxes of famous Girl Scout Cookies to our military troops overseas, Girl Scouts of Nassau County invites Girl Scouts from the past and present to the 2011 Alumni Celebration featuring the “Girl Scout Cookies® Dessert First Contest”. On Monday, April 11th, at the DeMatteis Center in Greenvale at 6:30pm, come sample an array of desserts made using Girl Scout Cookies created by local Girl Scout Troops.

“We are eager to reconnect with our alumni all while showing support for our servicemen and women fighting far from home by raising funds for our program, Operation Cookie,” said Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “We are sure the desserts will be scrumptious and can’t wait recognize the winning Girl Scout Troop for their culinary achievement!”

Attendees will each judge/vote on five semi-finalist Troop desserts made utilizing Girl Scout Cookies as one of the ingredients. A winner will be chosen based on appearance and taste. The winning Troop will receive a $200 voucher to be used toward any Council program.

Tickets to the event are $25.00 for Adults and $5.00 for current girl members of Girl Scouts. All proceeds benefit Operation Cookie. For more information or to register for the event contact Antoinette Agosta (516) 741-2550 ext. 216 or email agosta@gsnc.org or visit www.gsnc.org.
