MINEOLA RESIDENT ELECTED TO GIRL SCOUTS OF NASSAU COUNTY BOARD

Garden City, NY June 3, 2010 – Sandra Hoffer, a resident of Mineola, has further dedicated her time to supporting, helping and mentoring future generations of women leaders! Sandra was elected to the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, Inc. as a Member-at-Large on May 24th at the 45th Annual Meeting held at Adelphi University Ruth S. Harley University Center. Sandra joins other Board Members in their mission to provide leadership and innovative direction to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Council.

“Sandra will be a crucial member of our Board of Directors,” said Diane M. McFarlane, Esq., President of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Board of Directors. “With Sandra now serving our Board, we are positive she will help us to continue our mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.”

Sandra Hoffer is currently the Office Manager of Sandra G. Johnson, CPA, P.C., a woman-owned and managed accounting and tax practice focusing on the needs of small businesses and individuals. Dedicated to community service, Ms. Hoffer supports and participates in St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church as Junior Warden and Adult/Sunday School coordinator.  She is a member of several committees of the LI Center for Business and Professional Women and chaired their golf outing in 2008.   Ms. Hoffer is also a member of Soroptimist International and the American Society of Training and Development. 

Having been a registered Girl Scout for more than 35 years, Ms. Hoffer is active in GSNC as Delegate Chair and Program Liaison of the WARM Association.  Ms. Hoffer served as the Chair of the Nominating Committee in 2009 and is also serving a three-year term as a National Council Delegate.
