MANHASSET RESIDENT RECEIVES HIGHEST RECOGNITION AT GIRL SCOUTS OF NASSAU COUNTY’S ANNUAL LUNCHEON
Garden City, NY June 24, 2010 –Connie Fratianni Wysota of Manhasset has been selected to receive the Juliette Low Award of Distinction at the Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s Annual Luncheon on Tuesday, October 26th at the Garden City Hotel. Join fellow business and community leaders as they gather together in support of Ms. Fratianni Wysota’s dedication to the Girl Scouts and to helping girls become strong, confident and vibrant adults.

Ms. Fratianni Wysota has been a dedicated volunteer for the Girl Scouts of Nassau County for more than a decade and will be honored for her leadership, her tireless efforts and her commitment to helping girls in Manhasset. One of her greatest contributions has been as a role model for girls in her Troop, Ceravolo added. "Connie's care, dedication and guidance has been critical in helping shape the lives of girls throughout their Girl Scouts Leadership Experience," Ceravolo said.
Ms. Fratianni Wysota created a campaign, titled "Operation: Cookie," that was started to send Girl Scout Cookies to service men and women in Iraq, Afghanistan and surrounding areas. She also spearheaded a drive to collect over 1000 pairs of shoes for children living in devastated areas in the Middle East. Ms. Fratianni Wysota has served as delegate representing the Girl Scout of Nassau County Council at Girl Scout National Conventions and the Manhasset Association of Girl Scouts at the Council’s Annual Meeting.
In addition to her work with the Girl Scouts, Ms. Fratianni Wysota is a partner at the global law firm of Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York. She has worked at Shearman & Sterling since 1985 and became a partner in 2000. One of the leaders of the firm's Financial Recovery & Reform Advisory Group, Ms. Fratianni Wysota has experience in many types of financing transactions, as well as bankruptcies and restructurings. In addition, she is a Director of Operation Dreamseed, whose mission is to nurture long-term solutions and initiatives that help overcome the challenges in under-developed countries plagued by persistent conflict.
The Juliette Low Award of Distinction will be presented at the Annual Luncheon. The Luncheon is a major fundraiser for the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Council. A majority of the money raised is to provide financial assistance to girls who are unable to pay membership and program participation fees. Approximately 25% of registered Nassau County Girl Scouts receives financial assistance. Additional proceeds from the Annual Luncheon support ongoing Girl Scout programs in low-income neighborhoods; outreach to Girl Scouts who live in public housing; and programs that are conducted at schools during the school day.
