BALDWIN HARBOR RESIDENT ELECTED TO GIRL SCOUTS OF NASSAU COUNTY BOARD

Garden City, NY June 1, 2010 – Paige Johnston Charles a resident of Baldwin Harbor, has further dedicated her time to supporting, helping and mentoring future generations of women leaders! Paige was elected to the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, Inc. as a Member-at-Large on May 24th at the 45th Annual Meeting held at Adelphi University Ruth S. Harley University Center. Paige joins other Board Members in their mission to provide leadership and innovative direction to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Council.

“Paige will be a crucial member of our Board of Directors,” said Diane M. McFarlane, Esq., President of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Board of Directors. “With Paige serving our Board for a second-term, we are positive she will help us to continue our mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.”

Paige Johnston Charles is serving as a Member-at-Large of the Board of Directors.  Paige served as the Chair of the Nominating Committee from 2007-2008. Paige serves as a Co-Leader for her daughter’s Girl Scout Cadette Troop.  In addition to her work with Girl Scouts, she serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer for foster children in Nassau County, and volunteers her time with other non-profit organizations.

Ms. Charles is a member of The Links Incorporated, Long Island Chapter where she serves as the Services to Youth Facet Chair and a member of the Nassau County Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
