GIRL SCOUTS OF NASSAU COUNTY NAMED IN TOP 50 BEST NON PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS TO WORK FOR IN 2010
Garden City, April 8, 2010 –The Girl Scouts of Nassau County was recently named one of the 50 Best Non Profit Organizations to Work for in 2010, by the Non-Profit Times, a national publication for the not-for-profit community.
“We are absolutely overjoyed by this recognition,” says Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “It’s a true testament to what I and the rest of the staff at GSNC feel everyday. We are honored to be seen as an organization that attracts and keeps some of the most dedicated, talented and thoughtful employees in the region.”
Each year The Non-Profit Times partners with the Best Companies Group to establish the best non-profits to work for in the United States. This is a national selection process, and this year Girl Scouts of Nassau County has been recognized as one of those designated best in the country. The employees at the participating companies are surveyed, general company information is gathered, and the "Best Places to Work” lists and rankings are produced. The rankings are based upon the data that is collected from the employee survey and employer questionnaire, with the scoring emphasis on the employee opinion.
This is not the first national award received by GSNC. In 2007 the organization was named by AARP as one of the top 50 places to work for workers over 50; and that same year it was also the recipient of the Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility, one of only three winners in New York State.
Best Companies Group is dedicated to establishing "Best Places to Work," "Best Companies" or "Best Employers" programs in an effort to single out companies who are superior in workplace excellence. The company researches the dynamics and characteristics of great workplaces, analyzes the data and produces a "Best Places to Work" distinction that will make the participating company, the selected region (or industry) and the local organizing partners proud. The very mission of the organization is to "identify and recognize" organizations that are leading the way in defining the employee experience of the 21st century.
