GIRL SCOUTS OF NASSAU COUNTY CELEBRATE 98 YEARS WITH ALUMNAE

Garden City, NY April 19, 2010 – In support of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s Operation Cookie program, which brings a taste of home via boxes of famous Girl Scout Cookies to our military troops overseas, Girl Scouts of Nassau County invited Girl Scouts from the past and present to a “Sunday Afternoon of Delightful Desserts.” On Sunday, March 14th, at the Hyatt Place Hotel in Garden City guests gathered together to sample an array of desserts featuring Girl Scout Cookies created by local restaurateurs.

“It was a wonderful afternoon of catching up with old friends, sharing memories of our past Girl Scouting experiences and showing support for our servicemen and women fighting far from home,” said Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “The participating restaurants outdid themselves and we could not be more grateful for their contributions to this event. We certainly did enjoy ourselves and the desserts too!”

Restaurants were challenged to develop a dessert featuring the famous Girl Scout Cookies. Participating restaurants included RS Jones in Merrick; Page One in Glen Cove; Borrelli’s in East Meadow; Landmark Diner in Manhassett and NY Chefs Guild & Galaxie Caterers in Lindenhurst. Each attendee was asked to vote for the favorite dessert concoction and Borrelli’s came out on top.
