GIRL SCOUTS OF NASSAU COUNTY INVITES YOU TO GIRLFEST!
June 12, 2009—Celebrate what being a girl is all about at the Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s GirlFest 2009. Last year, more than 1,000 girls ages 5 to 17 years old joined together and discovered the way girls have fun, make a difference and give back to the community! This year’s event on Sunday, October 4th at the Broadway Mall in Hicksville, NY from 12:00 noon to 4:00pm will be no different!
“Last year’s GirlFest was such a resounding success. We knew we had to bring it back again this year,” said Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “This event is all about being a girl and learning about the joys of Girl Scouting including arts and crafts, science, fitness, meeting new friends and more!”
Attendees will get the chance to preview the newest Girl Scout Journey, “It’s Your Planet, Love It” and participate in more than 70 tables full of fun and educational activities and workshops focused on healthy living, science and discovery. Girls will also learn how to make various arts and crafts while listening to the famous singing voices of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Chorus!
Cost per girl is $5.00 or $10.00 at the door and adults attend for free. For more information or to register for GirlFest 2009 call 516-741-2550 or visit www.gsnc.org.
