Museum of American Armor’s Girl Scout Scholarship Challenge

Girl Scouts are invited to participate in The Museum of American Armor essay program. This opportunity is open to members of GSNC for the purpose of creating a better understanding of the heroes within our own families and those throughout our communities.

Girl Scouts should research and write an essay about a veteran, living or deceased, and his or her role in defending freedom and what insight the author gained as a result of this effort. The veteran may be a member of their family, a neighbor, friend or acquaintance. The individual may still be on active duty, recently returned from deployment or has not been in uniform for decades.

Your submission can be of any length and be accompanied by copies of photos (please do not use originals) that support your essay. It may be mailed to the Museum of American Armor, 1303 Round Swamp Road, Old Bethpage Village Restoration, Old Bethpage, New York 11804, attention: Essay Committee or by email to info@museumofamericanarmor.com.

Scholarship amounts up to $5,000 will be awarded; first prize being $5,000, second prize, $3,000, third prize, $2,000. Honorable mentions may also receive a scholarship donation to be determined by museum judges and scholarship sponsors Lawrence and Susan Kadish.

The deadline for submission is November 1st.
