Camping with Girl Scouts of Nassau County is fun!

Camping is a great way to build new skills, get a sense of community, and develop a deep appreciation for nature. Whether you go for a day, a weekend, a week or longer, Girl Scout camping gives you an opportunity to grow, explore, and have fun-always under the guidance of caring, trained adults. Every girl should have a chance to camp!

Summer Camp:

Camp Blue Bay Sleepaway Camp located in East Hampton, provides girls an outdoor experience in which campers can choose to live in a Troop House or Tent unit. A variety of program choices are available for one or two week sessions. All girls participate in general camp activities including swimming, boating, crafts, nature, campfires and more. The summer season runs from first week of July to third week of August. Girls can sign up as individual campers or go with a buddy. Registration begins in January, click here to learn more.

Summer Fun Day Camp at Wantagh Park runs for eight sessions, Monday through Friday, 9-5PM at Wantagh Park. Each week girls participate in all camp activities i.e. swimming, games and crafts in addition to the themed activites for the week. Girls may sign up as individual campers or go with buddies for as many sessions as they choose. Registration begins in January.

Camping Opportunities throughout the Year

Troop/Group Camping is a camping experience planned and carried out by a group of girls and their camp-trained advisors/leaders. Registration is ongoing by season, be sure to check the application submission dates and availability before submitting your application.

Summer Adventures - Troop Camping provides an opportunity for Troops to camp during the summer months and take advantage of the activities offered at summer camp; including swimming, boating, nature, arts & crafts, campfires and more. No training required for the adults

Program Weekends at Camp are organized and run by staff/volunteers, who sometimes provide all the logistical arrangements such as food, project supplies, a first-aider, and experienced camp trained adults when needed. Program weekends are advertised through Girlfriends and this web site each season. Be sure to check back often to see what is available. 

Parent/Child Overnight allows girls and their parent to spend an overnight at camp. You may choose to participate in a variety of planned activities, enjoy a local attraction or just relax and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings of East Hampton. Overnights take place late August and early September, registration opens April each year.
