A Typical Day

Camp day starts with a morning-circle and flag ceremony, followed by the girls breaking into age appropriate groups. The rest of the morning, campers participate in a variety of age-appropriate activities planned with a special weekly theme as well as traditional camp activities. These may include songs, games, nature, cooking and arts & crafts.

After lunch, weather-permitting, it’s pool time! Nassau County certified lifeguards supervise all swimming.

Each week, a special guest visits camp where girls experience a unique activity.Past guests have included, “Reptiles on the Move,” yoga and a magician.

Each Summer Fun location is under the direction of an on-site Camp Director and has a ratio of eight girls to one adult. Our staff is carefully chosen for their talents and ability to work with children. All staff members are committed to the Girl Scout values of honesty, respect and resposibility.

Rainy Days - Don’t worry; rainy days are just as fun. In the event of rain, the camp director will decide in the morning whether to use a nearby rainy day site. Campers will enjoy special themed activities and events planned for use at the rainy day site. Some possible themes may include “Science Magic,” “Fitness & Fun,” or “It's All About Me.”
