Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Become a Volunteer

Who can become an adult volunteer? People like you who wish to share their time and talent to help girls grow strong through the Girl Scout Movement.

You can work with girls directly, or you can help with the "operations" at the Service Center, helping to make our programs exciting, timeless, and fun for girls of all ages. Apply online to become a Girl Scout of Nassau County Volunteer.

As an adult volunteer, you can:

  • Work with girls weekly in a troop/group setting
  • Be a short-term volunteer for a girl program (trip chaperone, Junior Achievement, Sports Day, etc.)
  • Be an "operational" volunteer at the Service Center (support for the Shop, Reception Desk, Resource Room, data entry)
  • Share your professional expertise with girls at career days
  • Work with girls on a project
  • Learn to train troop leaders
  • Serve on a committee or task force
  • Help with fund-raising or special events

Join the more than 5,000 adults in our Council who contribute their time, energy, and enthusiasm to Girl Scouting. It's challenging, worthwhile and fun!
