Girl Scouts of Nassau County (GSNC) - Council Camp ProgramsThe Individual Girl Opportunities at Camp Blue Bay includes transportation to and from camp to the Girl Scout Service Center – we provide the staff and volunteers.

Camp Blue Bay Sleep Away Camp (one or two week sessions July 3 - August 14)
Girls entering grades 1-11 can enjoy a diverse camping experience in which they can choose between Troop House Camping and Outdoor Tent Camping. Camp programs are available for one or two week sessions. Girls will have the opportunity to participate in camp activities including swimming, boating, crafts, nature, campfires and more. Breathe Journey (July 14-17, 2014)
A Special Summer Mini Session for individual Cadette Girl Scouts. Work towards your Breathe Journey while enjoying everything that summer camp has to offer. Learn more about Breathe Journey Mini Session>>

Adventure Fun (August 4-7, 2014)
A Special Summer Mini Session for individual Cadette Girl Scouts. Spend time on the low ropes course getting to know the girls in the group by challenging yourself and working as a team to complete each element on the course. Learn more about Adventure Fun Mini Session>>

Trailblazing Badge Weekend (September 12-14, 2014)
Calling all Individual Cadettes! Spend the weekend exploring your inner outdoor woman while working on your Trailblazing badge at Camp Blue Bay. Learn more about the Trailblazing Badge Weekend>>

 

Troop Opportunities – you provide the girls and adult coverage – we provide the staff and volunteers to deliver the program.

Summer Adventures Troop Camping (Summer 2014)
Enjoy a few days with your Troop getting a taste of summer camp, all program and meals provided – enjoy swimming, boating, campfires and more. All you need to do is have appropriate adult coverage – Weekends and Mid-Week opportunities for Brownies thru Ambassadors. Learn more about Summer Adventures Troop Camping>>

Bugs Brownie Badge Program (July 21-23, 2014)
With your Troop explore the world of Bugs and learn more about these little creatures that do so much. Enjoy many of the summer activities such as swimming and a campfire while you are here. Learn more about Bugs Brownie Badge Program>>

Trailblazing Cadette Badge Weekend (July 25-27, 2014)
Spend a weekend in a tent exploring your inner outdoor woman while working on your Trailblazing Badge – spend some time enjoying other summer camp activities such as swimming and a campfire. Learn more about Trailblazing Cadette Badge Weekend>>

Come along to create a circle of fun and friendship, understand the power of one, learn more about the power of team and explore the possibilities of reaching out to become the power of community. Animal Habitats Junior Badge Weekend (August 8-10, 2014)
Find out about wild animals, create an animal house; explore endangered habitats and learn to protect animal habitats. Spend time with your Troop experiencing summer camp and the activities available. Learn more about Animal Habitats Junior Badge Weekend>>

If going to camp over night isn't for you, try GSNC's Summer Fun Day Camp at Wantagh Park.

 

OKTOBERFEST 2014
Oktoberfest Deadline Extension!

We have extended the deadline for Workshop submissions for Oktoberfest 2014 to Friday, June 6th.

Are you interested in delivering exciting workshops to other Girl Scouts? Do you have a craft, project, game or Troop activity that all might enjoy learning and bringing home to their family and Troop? Topics might include; health and wellness, level specific Journey information, DYI projects, crafts, games and more. Primary workshop facilitators will receive a $10.00 registration discount to Oktoberfest 2014.

If you are interested in delivering a workshop by yourself or with a group, please complete the workshop application form by Friday, June 6th.

There are still a limited number of openings for the following summer 2014 destinations trips:
      - The Great Panda Adventure
      - Channel Islands Adventure Expedition
      - San Juan Islands Kayaking
      - Costa Rica and Panama Service Challenge*
      - Scuba and Sea Turtle Adventure*

*A limited number of $500 scholarships from GSUSA’s Elliott Wildlife Values Project are available

Designer Division, Stylish Subtraction and Fashionable Fractions

Have you thought about a career in fashion or retail? In addition to a good sense of color and a flair for putting together an outfit, you also need math skills. Fashion and home furnishings designers use geometry for pattern making and print creations.

Through “hands-on” projects and outside speakers, the program is expected to touch upon market research and consumer behavior, costing, retail terminology and supply chain management concepts. Girls will create, cost and price a holiday décor item. It is expected that one afternoon will include a visit to a local mall.

WHO: Girls entering grades 7, 8 and 9
